About Artist Jeannine Dailey
Thirty years after having part of her brain removed due to encephalitis, and two decades after losing much of her vision when the virus resurfaced, Jeannine Dailey defies the odds in pursuit of creativity. This Toledo native has been painting for most of her life and teaching for over 30 years in Washington Local Schools, Sylvania Schools and the University of Toledo. Many of her students have followed in her footsteps, becoming professional artists themselves.
Jeannine is a featured artist in local galleries, and her work has been purchased for private collections. In addition to winning numerous awards for her work over the years, her painting "Awakening" was selected for Key Bank's nationwide inaugural exhibit. She was then among a select few from that exhibit to showcase their work at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC. In 1994, Ms. Dailey was selected to paint the mural that graces the walls of the University of Toledo Medical Center’s Pediatric Clinic in the Ruppert Health Center.
Despite poor health and the loss of most of her vision she continues to produce award winning art, continues to teach privately and continues to celebrate the joy in life by creating art.
